Patricia “Pat” Knight Clare

Patricia “Pat” Knight Clare, 89, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona.

Pat was born July 1, 1937, in Gilmer, Texas, to Jewel Jackson Knight and Alva Lindsey Brown.

On September 24, 1956, she married Fred Leon Clare in Gilbert, Arizona. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on October 31, 2017, and by her brother, Ronald Eugene Knight, on May 12, 2012.

Pat is survived by her eight children: Fred Clare (Jeanette Arrington), Julia Daley (Mike), David Clare (Jayne Brimhall), Kim Webb (Dennis), Jeff Clare (Joni Shane), Greg Clare (Julie Evans), Aaron Clare (Aimee Lunt), and Daron Clare (Janessa Turley); 38 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Anita Morris.

A private family graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Mesa Cemetery, where her son Jeff will dedicate the grave. A memorial service will be held that evening at 6:30 p.m. at the chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 633 South Higley Road, Mesa, Arizona.

The family extends a special thank-you to Endeavor Hospice for their gentle care and support in the last months of Pat’s life.
