Obituary
Warren Douglas Minton, 83, passed away surrounded by loved ones at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 18, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Beaver Dam, KY on August 15, 1943, he was the fourth child of Arthur and Edith Minton. He attended grade school in one of the country’s last one-room schoolhouses (Horton School), where his mother was the only teacher until 1958. After receiving an Industrial Arts and Engineering degree from Western Kentucky University, he taught drafting at a local high school, after which he proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1969-1971, serving as a machine gunner on an ACAV in I-Troop, 11th Armored Calvary Regimen (Blackhorse). After being wounded in combat, Warren was awarded the military’s distinguished Purple Heart. After returning to the States, he was employed as a service engineer at Babcock and Wilcox in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. He was later transferred to Lynchburg, VA, where he retired early and opened his own business, developing his passion for photography. In 2018, he and his wife relocated to Scottsdale, AZ where they were able to retire and enjoy the beautiful desert sunsets and warm winters.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edith Minton, siblings Laura Ellen Decker of Beaver Dam, KY (1959), John Lowell Minton of Louisville KY (2026), and Alice Minton Brooks of Gallatin, TN (2026).
